How to reach Kefalonia

By boat: You can reach Kefalonia via ferry from three regions on the mainland, all situated in Western Greece – Kyllini, Patra and Astakos.
Ferries departing from Kyllini arrive at the port of Poros while ferries from Patra and Astakos at the port of Sami. The fastest crossings are those from Kyllini.
Kefalonia is also connected with the nearby Ithaca. Routes to Lefkada and Zakynthos are often available in the summer season, too.

By plane: Kefalonia Airport (Anna Pollatou) is strategically located on the south-shouthwest part of Kefalonia island. It is located around 8 km from Argostoli – the capital of Kefalonia.
Kefalonia’s Airport connects the island with Athens International Airport, Preveza International Airport and Zakynthos International Airport.
Since the island is a popular destination among holidaymakers from Greece and abroad alike, the airport receives flights from several European countries, including Italy, the UK, Austria, the Netherlands, etc.
You can go to the airport by bus, car, or taxi.
